British independent lifestyle store teams up with Re-Fashion, helping customers to recycle well-loved clothing and accessories for charity. The UK throws away 350,000 tonnes of good quality clothes each year. In monetary terms that’s £140 million worth of used, but wearable, clothing going to waste. Re-Fashion helps to keep these clothes in the loop. Oliver Bonas customers can now add a free Re-Fashion bag to their orders and fill it with unwanted clothes to send off to Re-Fashion to be sold for charity. Re-Fashion will either list the unwanted clothes on its own website, send clothes off to charity shops or with any items that don’t make the grade; create rag bags for fashion students and the upcycling community. Re-Fashion works with a collection of charities and donates part of each sale from its recycled and re-purposed fashion. The sales on its website can earn a charity up to three times more than it would from a charity shop. Re-Fashion has helped raise over £30,000 for its charitable partners. Its charity partner, Rieves Foundation, helps support sustainable initiatives, volunteering, and storytelling projects for the next generation.
