POC Magazine | Quorn and Pink Key give licensing a taste of sustainability

Quorn will only seek partners that uphold its commitment to a healthy planet

The global meat alternative brand, Quorn has appointed Pink Key Licensing to pioneer a new consumer products programme that sits ‘in full alignment’ with its sustainability and environmental values to drive its ‘better for the planet’ messaging across the market. Sustainable and environmental values will play an integral role in the Quorn licensing programme and the brand has stated that it will only be working with licensing partners that uphold its commitment to a healthy planet. First launched to UK consumers in 1985, Quorn closely aligns itself with a pioneering approach to food production and consumption, health benefits, and sustainability. Through Pink Key Licensing, the company is now looking to translate these credentials into the brand and lifestyle licensing arena. Sam Blunt, commercial operations director at Quorn Foods, said: "We put a Net Positive lens on everything we do now, we’re about putting far more back into the environment and society than we take out, and when that comes to licensing it comes back to ethical sourcing, recycled materials, and sustainable production. "Quorn is now a mass-market brand, and so it feels like now is a good time to be taking our message into the licensing arena." You can read this story and many more, in full here.  Since its launch, Quorn has looked to pioneer new efforts in sustainable food production, the future of which the company has pinpointed as ‘one of humanity’s biggest challenges.’ In September 2021, the business launched a special initiative to inspire creative filmmakers to come together and raise awareness of the challenge – the future of our food. As a result, The Quorn Pioneers Film Fund was set up – in association with planetSHINE to kick-start an important conversation around that future.
