Business for Nature is campaigning against nature loss

Products of Changes has joined with more than 600 businesses to urge governments to adopt policies now to reverse nature loss in this decade Business for Nature is a global coalition bringing together influential organisations and forward-thinking businesses to call for governments to reverse nature loss. Through convening a united business voice to influence key political decisions on nature in 2020 and beyond, the coalition is calling for a global framework that will reverse nature loss through policies that protect and restore nature and incentivise its sustainable use. Founder of Products of Change, Helena Mansell-Stopher says: “For us to drive sustainable change we have to reach out and work across multiple business sectors, NGO’s and governments. Business cannot address climate issues on its own and that’s why the Business for Nature movement is so important in advising governments to adopt policies to reverse nature loss within this decade”. According to the World Economic Forum’s Nature Risk Report, businesses are more dependent on nature than previously thought. Around $44 trillion of economic value generation - more than half of the world’s total GDP - is moderately or highly dependent on nature and is therefore exposed to nature loss. Businesses are pushing for governments to adopt these policies because they understand that social and economic prosperity, and the success of their businesses, rely on a healthy natural world.
