WHSmith new web hub for eco products

The new web page on the WHSmith website highlights all the eco products

New home page on WHSmith website will share all things eco-related, from its improvements in packaging options to products and the company’s journey to creating a more sustainable, better business. WHSmith has increased the variety of eco products and brands it sells online to include lunch boxes made from rice husk, a new range of recycled wrapping paper and fashionable stationery made using more recycled materials and natural fibres such as cornstarch, wheat straw, cork and vegetable based ink. The Eco-Products home page also outlines WHSmith’s commitment to sustainability including: - Net zero by the end of 2040 - Reducing single plastic use - No unnecessary packaging - No plastic glitter on products by the end of 2021 There’s a spotlight on packaging with the website stating: “we’re working hard to reduce single-use plastic across our business and reduce the environmental impact of our own-brand products. This includes removing packaging where possible or switching to better environmental options.” WHSmith has already removed cellophane wrapping from its greetings cards, and has updated its e-commerce packaging. The cardboard cartons are 100% recyclable (including the tape) and they’re all made from at least 70% recycled content.
