The B Corp beverage brand, Flawsome Drinks has partnered with the RSPB in a deal to bring its product range of refreshments to the wildlife charity’s network of UK cafes.

Sharing a mission to look after the environment for future generations, the RSPB will introduce Flawsome’s collection of cold-pressed juices, sparkling cans, and health shots – all of which is made from ‘wonky fruit and veg’ – to its UK café offering this spring.

A small, family run business, Flawsome Drinks was created to help fight the worsening crisis of food waste. Around the world, around 3.7 trillion apples are wasted each year. It’s estimated that one-third of food is wasted due to the aesthetic standards or supply chain inefficiencies. Flawsome is therefore on a five-year mission to save 20,000 tonnes of wonky surplus fruit and vegetables from going to waste.

A carbon positive entity, Flawsome acts to offset more emissions that it generates in the production and supply of if range of drinks. The team invests in biodiversity conservation by protecting tropical rainforest, the instalment of wind farms, and projects to improve cookstoves to help impoverished families.

In a post on social media, the Flawsome Drinks team said: “We’re spreading our wings and taking off to new heights this spring with the RSPB. Through their sustainable mission, the RSPB has been safeguarding over 200 reserves all over Britain since 1889. Just like us, they believe in looking after our environment for future generations. We think we’re a pretty great match.”

Issuing his own update on the partnership, Maciek Kacprzyk, ceo at Flawsome, said: “It all started when we sat down with Lynne Weedon [food and beverage area consultant at the RSPB]. Thanks to Lynne and the RSPB, we’ve now landed one of our biggest deals ever.”
