DEBATE: Ambition without action – can doing good really drive profitability? 

We’ve been talking about purpose and profit for years, but if it really worked, wouldn’t it be business-as-usual by now? Many retailers are held back from cost pressures, risk aversion or the barrier of legacy systems – keeping them trapped in a cycle of ambition without action.

This debate asks: if doing good is so important, why isn’t it already embedded in the DNA of every retailer? We’ll challenge whether purpose-led business is commercially viable and what it would take to make profit and impact truly coexist.
