Join Bluesign and Fashion Enter at POC’s Fashion Workstream today

The Products of Change fashion forum will be going into overdrive later today when attendees will be treated to not one, not two, but three guest speakers invited to offer up the latest insight into the fashion sector’s cutting-edge innovation and the regulations shaping them.

Products of Change members are invited to register here (for free) for a special webinar taking place at 4.30pm (UK time), featuring Bluesign Technologies and Fashion Enter.

Bluesign Technologies will be making a grand return to the POC fashion community on April 23rd when consultant, Mark Edridge will present a deep dive into all the relevant and upcoming legislation surrounding the UK and European fashion, apparel, and textiles scene.

Utilising his experience and insight working across Bluesign, Mark will iron out the complexities of the EU Green Deal and cast a spotlight on some of the legislative piece’s smaller print and lesser knowns to help the licensed apparel and fashion sector navigate the incoming tidal wide of regulatory changes. 

Mark will be joined by Ashish Ahlawat, head of R&D at the outdoor ski and snowboarding brand, Ridestore who will offer POC members a glimpse behind the curtain of what life is like working in partnership with Bluesign Technologies to accurately measure and reduce the environmental impact of clothing and apparel while going above and beyond the demands of environmental regulation as it currently stands.

Together, Mark and Ashsih will deliver a vision of the near future of the fashion and apparel industry while answering attendee questions in a dedicated Q&A session.

The second half of the fashion workstream will introduce members to Jenny Holloway, ceo of Fashion Enter – a not for profit, social enterprise striving to be the centre of excellence for sampling, grading, production, and for learning and development of skills within the fashion and textiles industry.

Over a 30-year career in fashion to date, Jenny has worked with the likes of Littlewoods, M&S, and Principles for Women before she set up her own label, Retro. Today, Fashion Enter employs over 100 people producing and repairing quality garments for well-known brands, while Fashion Studio provides a UK-based sampling service for independent brands.

Developed to revive a homegrown talent pool for the fashion and textiles industry, Fashion Enter also runs the Tailoring Academy, a training facility providing specialist skills, job training, and apprenticeships. Fashion Enter is bult around the concept of bringing the prestige of being made in the UK back to the industry.
