Consumer product impact scoring team Dayrize goes B Corp

The product impact assessment service, Dayrize has achieved B Corp certification, joining a global movement of like-minded businesses pushing for change and becoming the latest Products of Change member to do so.

Having gone through the rigorous B Corp assessment process, Dayrize emerged with a score of 143.4 out of a total 200, reflective of the strength of the company’s commitment to its people, community, and the planet.

B Corp is a community of leaders, driving a global movement of people using business as a force for good. Impact areas assessed throughout the process include Governance, employees, community, and the environment.

Dayrize started up with the ambition of enabling businesses and consumers to bring their consumption within planetary and societal boundaries by measuring impact at a product level and making it accessible for all businesses through the expertise of its team of environmental scientists, industrial ecologist, and tech experts.

The result is Dayrize’s impact measurement technology that provides impact transparency throughout the production process, making it easy for consumers and businesses to understand – and ultimately reduce – their environmental and social impact, product by product.

In an announcement made this morning, the team at Dayrize, said: “Becoming a B Corp is an important milestone for us and reflects our ongoing commitment to our mission; to bring consumption within planetary and societal boundaries.

“We are so grateful for the support of the team, customers, and community as we continue to work towards a more sustainable future. The biggest impact of companies in the consumer goods industry comes from the products they make and sell. However, most companies are not measuring impact at the product level as traditional product impact assessments were complex, expensive, and time consuming.

“Thank you for being part of our journey towards a better, brighter future.”

Dayrize is now part of a community of 8,000 businesses globally who have certified as B Corps. The B Corp certification process is widely known to be thorough and rigorous, with applicants required to reach a benchmark score of over 80 out of a maximum score of 200, while providing evidence of socially and environmentally responsible practices relating to energy supplies, waste and water use, worker compensation, diversity and corporate transparency.

To complete the certification, the company has legally embedded their commitment to purpose beyond profit in their company articles. Every three years, B Corps must recertify to uphold certification.

Taking it to Las Vegas Licensing Expo

With this good news in tow, Dayrize will be joining Products of Change and its excursion to Las Vegas Licensing Expo later this month to play an integral part of the POC Sustainable Innovation booth. Dayrize will be presenting its product impact scoring technology with a series of visual call out and info boards to offer show attendees a snapshot of the tools and resources that the B Corp tech platform can provide manufacturing partners and brands as they pursue their own journey of sustainable development.

Dayrize’s technology allows manufacturing partners and brand owners to assess the environmental impact of each individual product they make by collecting data to process into one final ‘Impact Score’ relative to the scale of the environmental impact the product has along the production process – from land and water use to the distance travelled throughout the course of its production.

By offering brand owners this level of detail on each product in their portfolio, Dayrize can arm the consumer products sector with the information needed to keep levels of consumption and resource use within the planetary boundaries.

Dayrize’s platform will be showcased on POC’s booth S226 at Las Vegas Licensing Expo later this month. Be sure to drop by and catch a glimpse of the future of product manufacturing.
