LIGA and ZSL launch nature-inspired sustainable homewares range

Eco-conscious homewares brand, LIGA, has announced a new collaboration with the Zoological Society of London (ZSL), marking the brand’s first-ever licensed collection. The partnership celebrates ZSL’s vital conservation work and spotlights three species from its global programmes – the reticulated giraffe, Humboldt penguin, and Asian elephant.

The ZSL x LIGA collection brings together LIGA’s signature natural and recycled materials with bold, playful designs inspired by the featured species. The range includes cork and tile trivets, coasters and placemats, trays, printed mugs, tea towels, compostable dishcloths and memo boards – all designed to bring a touch of nature into everyday living.

After receiving strong feedback at Autumn Fair, the full collection is set to launch at Spring Fair 2026. As with all ZSL partnerships, royalties from the range will directly support ZSL’s global conservation work.

LIGA’s ethos of “only taking what the planet is happy to give” runs through every aspect of the brand’s design and production. Founded as a family business, LIGA continues to create affordable, design-led products using organic cottons, recycled plastics, ceramics and ethically sourced cork – all verified to meet robust sustainability standards.

“I am delighted with the range we have created with ZSL – it’s playful and appealing, whilst being respectful to the animals,” said Jennie Elderkin, Founder of LIGA. “The LIGA ethos is to only take what the planet is happy to give, and in return to give back. We are proud to be giving back with this project, supporting the conservation work of ZSL.”

A science-led conservation charity, ZSL works to protect and restore wildlife both in the UK and across more than 80 countries worldwide. Its zoos – London Zoo and Whipsnade Zoo – play a central role in this mission, supporting breeding programmes, conservation education and inspiring future generations of wildlife champions.

Abbie Taylor, Brand Licensing Manager at ZSL, added: “For us at ZSL, it’s vital that our products reflect our mission to protect species and their habitats. We’re thrilled to be launching this range with LIGA, a brand that shares our values on sustainability and responsible design. This collaboration is a great example of how we can bring nature into everyday living while encouraging more conscious consumer choices.”

The project was brokered by licensing agency Metrostar, whose Managing Director Claire Potter commented: “It’s always exciting to launch a collection with a team so passionate about what they do. The LIGA team have poured their hearts and souls into every aspect of this range, and it’s fantastic to see such a positive reaction from retailers.”
