Talking Tables to celebrate B Corp Month with activities and industry discussions

Products of Change members, Talking Tables, Pure Table Top, and the Giftware Association will be bringing members of the gift industry together at the end of next month for a special discussion on Harnessing the Power of B Corp. The session will close out a month of special activities celebrating the B Corp accreditation system throughout March.

The discussion – the third in Talking Tables’ Talking Together series of sessions – will be one of a number of initiatives the partyware and games & gifts company will be hosting as it raises awareness of the B Corp accreditation and the importance of sustainability and social impact.

Talking Tables achieved its B Corp certification in September last year after passing a rigorous evaluation of its social and environmental impact. The team will be publishing its first impact report as part of its month of activity.

This report will provide much of the messaging for the marketing campaign, particularly on social.

Talking Tables’ founder Clare Harris and the team’s director of supply chain, Daniel Fagan, will be joined by speakers from inside the industry and out. Tom Sellicks, sustainability officer at Pure Table Top will join the conversation on Being better the B Corp way alongside Louisa Mordant, founder of I Love My Job.

Talking Tables is currently fresh from Spring Fair 2023 where the team showcased a portfolio of branded collections, all either recyclable or reusable. Its paper products are sourced from FSC sustainably managed forests while the paper used in its napkins and games is offset with tree planting. New initiatives for the spring/summer season include reusable upcycled bunting from India, supporting craft-based developers, and recycled glass bud vases.

Within the company’s games range, all items are reusable while booster packs are being introduced to add to existing games to extend their life. Additionally, to further prolong the life of games, from March any customers taking games that they no longer have a use for to a charity shop will be rewarded with having ten trees planted in their name.

There are now more than 1,000 B Corps in the UK, but representation in the giftware industry remains low. Talking Tables is setting out to change this by encouraging cross-industry conversation around the benefits of operating as a B Corp and placing purpose at the centre of a business.
