EcoSplat reusable water balloons land in the UK for a summer of circularity

The Great British Summer is about to get a whole lot more circular thanks to the arrival of a range of reusable water balloons courtesy of the New Zealand eco-friendly toy company, Sustained Fun.

Through a new partnership with the online wholesale marketplace, Faire, Sustained Fun is making its first route into the UK market enabling stockists and independent retailers shop the company’s popular EcoSplat reusable water balloons.

EcoSplat aims to do away with waste by providing families with a reusable alternative to the popular water balloon. In fact, each EcoSplat balloon – made from polyester –  is said to replace over 3,000 single-use water balloons.

Sustained Fun recently celebrated its official B Corp accreditation driven not only by the team’s commitment to the environment but to placing purpose at the centre of its business, operating to educate children and families on the kind of actions they can be taking to reduce their impact on the planet.

Through its partnership with Faire, new retailers are being offered £100 credit and free shipping for a year in a special offer lasting the next three weeks only.

Founded by Helen Townsend and Anthea Madill in 2021, Sustained Fun is a multi-award winning toy company with a mission to develop children’s toys which address climate change and build confidence through play. Its toys are designed for longevity, to minimise waste, encourage a love for the environment, and incorporate STEM learning principles.

“Toys influence how children see the world and are a tool that determines how they will shape the future,” reads a statement from the pair on the Sustained Fun website. “Today’s kids are the decision makers of 2040 and 2050 – the politicians, teachers, scientists, parents, and business leaders. We want them to have learnt about the world through play.”

All Sustained Fun products are delivered in 100% recyclable packaging and are shipped plastic-free. The operation is powered by 100% renewable and carbon zero certified electricity and 120% of the carbon it produces is offset.
