One man’s rubbish, as the old saying goes, is one company’s trade show POS… a point well proven when Products of Change opted last week to bring its Licensing Expo presence to life with a touch of creativity alongside a whole dose of daring.
Working with the creative team at Mischievous Wolf, Products of Change decided to max out on the minimalism, subvert trade show tradition, and build its stand almost entirely from materials salvaged from the recycling bins.
All of it collected there at the show with the stand’s final design only taking shape just hours before the show started.

“It was certainly a way of upping the pre-trade show ante,” said Rob Hutchins, editor and community manager at Products of Change. “Not only did we not know what the final look of the booth would be, but there was no possible way we could have known.
“Working with the creative team at Mischievous Wolf, we could only use materials found on the day, on the build site floor. What an achievement to have brought to life our Licensing Expo space in the way they did, with the materials they salvaged – all of which was collected for recycling at the end of the show.
“This is the ethos and spirit of Products of Change and we’re very proud to have been able to represent it so well at Licensing Expo last week.”

A central display stand was transformed into an educational ideation station showcasing material alternatives to fossil-fuel derivatives. The display unit was crafted expertly by the team at Mischievous Wolf who managed to shape a narrative from salvaged cardboard boxes and packaging.
“The look and feel of the stand really brought to life the message behind Products of Change that ‘waste’ is simply a product of inefficiency, a human construct,” said Helena Mansell-Stopher, founder and ceo of Products of Change.

“By bringing all this waste material into the look and feel of our booth build we hope we conveyed the concept that all that waste has a value. We just have to create the systems that will allow us to capture that value and keep all those resources from becoming waste to begin with.
“A big thank you goes to Informa Markets for resupplying us with materials from last year while thank you also goes to the team at Jazwares who donated a lovely yet unwanted cabinet. I nearly bought it its own ticket back home with me…”
