Gibsons expands its games portfolio with three new additions

POC Member, Gibsons, has launched three new additions to its games portfolio: Not Mushroom, Cribbage, and Mahjong.

Gibsons specialises in family games and jigsaws that are single-use plastic-free, with the B Corp company winning the King’s Award for Enterprise for Excellence in Sustainable Development.

Leading the launch is Not Mushroom, a dexterity-based family game designed around stacking colourful wooden pieces to build mushrooms on a compact playing board before harvesting them for points. Combining skill, strategy and competitive gameplay, the title has been developed to appeal to family audiences and hobby gamers alike.

“We’re thrilled to bring Not Mushroom to market. It’s one of those games that instantly draws people in. Easy to learn, with tactile wooden pieces and nail-biting gameplay make it incredibly replayable and perfect for game nights.”

Commenting on the launch, Lauren Heywood-Law, games product developer at Gibsons, said the game’s accessibility and replayability were central to its appeal:

Alongside the introduction of Not Mushroom, Gibsons is further expanding its Gift of the Year Award-winning Art File Classic Games Collection with the addition of Cribbage and Mahjong.

The two releases continue the company’s collaboration with award-winning publisher The Art File, combining heritage gameplay with contemporary design. According to Gibsons, both products have been manufactured using sustainably sourced paper and wood, reinforcing the business’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and responsible product development.

While Cribbage offers a refreshed presentation of the traditional card game, Mahjong brings the classic tile-matching experience into the collection in a format designed to appeal to both experienced players and newcomers.

The launches form part of a broader strategy to strengthen the company’s presence in the games category, balancing new family entertainment concepts with elevated classic formats that offer year-round gifting potential.

Lauren added: “Whether customers are looking for a brand new family favourite or a beautifully presented classic game, these new additions offer something for everyone. We’re excited to see them hit shelves and become part of game collections across the UK and beyond.”
