POC members win at Progressive Preschool Awards 2024

The Progressive Preschool Awards 2024 were held yesterday (Tuesday 12 November) at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, London, and among the many deserved winners was a healthy number of POC members, who’s achievements we’d be amiss not to share and celebrate.

An audience of 400 industry executives and award hopefuls from retail, nursery, preschool, toy, marketing, and licensing arenas gathered at the London venue for the event, hosted by comedian, Glenn Moore.

Welcoming everyone, COO of Max Publishing, Rob Willis, said: “This event happens because of all of you in this audience, and in the whole preschool industry – the fantastic sponsors who back the entire industry, those marketing gurus who enter, those superstar judges we have and, indeed, everyone who buys a single ticket to this day – we thank you.”

Across a number of very competitive award categories, there were a number of POC members victorious:

Best Supermarket Retailer: Asda

For retailer’s approach and achievements in the preschool market over the last year.

Best Preschool Apparel Range: The Gruffalo and Friends x Team GB SS24 for Asda from Aykroyds

Robyn Cowling, Akroyds, commented on the win; “We are absolutely thrilled to have delivered such a meaningful range to Asda, leveraging the power of the beloved Gruffalo and the aspirational Team GB, and for our teams to be recognised at The Progressive Preschool Awards is always fantastic and a brilliant event too.

“It was an absolute privilege to accept the award, but the real credit goes to each and every person involved for their daily contributions in making this collection an award winning one which we’re all very proud of!  Well done to everyone involved.”

Aidan Taylor-Gooby, Magic Light Pictures, added, “We are incredibly proud to win this Progressive Preschool Award.  Bringing this range together was a real labour of love between the teams at ASDA, Aykroyds, Team GB and Magic Light Pictures and it’s fantastic for everybody’s hard work to be recognised by the industry.”

Best Infant Development Range: Disney Baby The Lion King Range from Rainbow Designs.

Alys Dawson, Rainbow Designs, said, “We are delighted to have won this award, it is a credit to the hard work and knowledge our team put into this range and the supportive working relationship we have with Disney. Look out for more Lion Ling developmental toys and gifts coming from us soon!”

What Parents Love Award: Disney

This award was in collaboration with kids’ market intelligence specialist, The Insights Family, which asked UK parents of children aged 1-3 for their most trusted brands based on fandom and advocacy (1 January 2024 – 12 October 2024).

Congratulations to all the POC member winners and nominees, as well as everyone else who collected one of the prestigious awards that evening.
