The world’s biggest sustainability film festival approaches

Big Syn International Film Festival (BSIFF) is the world’s biggest sustainability film festival and awards. The 2024 (6th) edition is screening over 150 films to millions in over 120 countries from 17-26 October and is free to view, via bigsyn.org (click on watch free).

The festival is hosted by the Big Syn Institute, a CSO of the United Nations and is led by OSCAR-, BAFTA- and EMMY-winners, as well as leaders from sustainability, business, media and policy. So far, the festival has reached over 45M in 120+ countries and celebrates meaningful films of all types; from documentaries to animations, from feature films and shorts to music videos, charity films, experimental films and public service videos.

Dr. Sourav Roy, CEO, Centre for Big Synergy, London, commented, “Enjoy watching these films, be aware of the bigger picture of sustainability, draw inspiration from relatable stories of change and resilience, and act now to address the biggest challenge faced by all of us -climate change. Every film has a statement describing how the issues highlighted in the film is important to each one of us, irrespective of who we are or where we live on this planet.”

There will also be an Awards Gala on 8 November, 3-7 pm at Curzon Soho, featuring a red carper and live performances from artists. The event will be attended by members of the Grand Jury, Big Syn’s partners and supporters such as the Production Guild of Great Britain, British Council, Directors UK, UN Agencies such as the International Maritime Organisation, World Meteorological Organisation, Grand Jury alumni, BSIFF Ambassadors, Film, Television, Media, sustainability and policy leaders.
