Phased rollout now confirmed for the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) with simplified rules for small operators, after a delay was proposed just weeks ago.
The European Commission has confirmed that the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) will go ahead without further delay, reinforcing Europe’s stance against deforestation-linked imports.
Large and medium-sized companies must comply from 30 December 2025, while micro and small enterprises have until 30 December 2026.
To support smooth implementation, the Commission has proposed a six-month grace period for enforcement checks and simplified reporting for small operators and downstream traders. Only one due diligence submission will now be required per product at its entry point to the EU market – significantly reducing administrative burdens while keeping the regulation’s environmental ambition intact.
Join us at the Products of Change Conference as Dr Mirjam Hazenbosch, sustainable business team lead at the Zoological Society of London, shares an expert update on the latest EUDR developments – and what they mean for brands, retailers, and manufacturers navigating evolving global supply chain legislation.
