POC is excited to welcome the newest member of our team, Ruby, our first ever intern, who will be working to support us and the POC Community.
We’ve been getting stuck straight in this week with a team day in Winchester, reunited after a long summer break of travels and relaxation – and with a new face in tow! Rigorous planning has resumed as we prepare for a busy couple of months ahead and count down to the POC Conference.

Hi,
I’m Ruby Rocksmith, Products of Change’s newest employee. I am a undergraduate Geography BSc student at Loughborough University, who is spending the next year with the Products of Change team as my industry placement.
I first met the POC team at the UN’s 80th anniversary celebration, and it was such a brilliant introduction. The team were so welcoming right from the start. I felt genuinely honored to have been invited as a young ambassador for such an important event, and it’s a moment I’ll always be grateful for.
I’m looking forward to figuring out where I fit within the industry. I’m excited to meet interesting people from across the sector and to throw myself into something completely new. With the aim of learning as much as I can about the industry and building a range of new skills along the way.
A fun fact about me is that when I’m not busy with POC you’ll find me researching the English White clawed crayfish for my dissertation; sometimes even in the field with the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust!
Sustainability runs through so much of my degree, from the environmental side to the economic side, and it’s something I genuinely care deeply about. I truly believe sustainability is our future. There’s no second chance, and we’re all responsible for the planet we leave behind. Without it, we fail, and that’s exactly why I want to be part of the solution.
I am looking forward to acquiring a lived experience of the industry this year and can’t wait to meet lots of you and learn along the way.
