Climate Action Week NYC: What’s on

This year’s Climate Action Week NYC next week on 20-27 September, is set to be an impactful one, especially after the success of London Climate Action Week earlier this year.

Climate Week NYC organisers say that the focus for this year’s event is the “energy, the impact, and the action that we drive together.”

Climate Week NYC is organised by Climate Group, an international non profit that has driven climate action for over two decades by convening leaders across business and government. In coordination with the UN General Assembly, the event brings together the decision-makers and experts shaping capital, policy and markets across sectors and regions.

Climate Week NYC was set up to connect the people and ideas shaping how we live, work and build a low-carbon economy and a more secure future.

So for our US-based Members, here are a couple events taking place that have caught our eye:

Powering Forward: Sustainable Sports & Entertainment

Monday 21 September | 15:00 – 19:00 EDT | The Forum at Colombia University

The sustainability conversation is no longer happening in silos. From stadiums and concert venues to film studios, Broadway stages, and global brands, leaders across sports, entertainment, and media are grappling with many of the same challenges and opportunities.

Join the Sustainability, Energy, and Entertainment Network (SEEN) at Columbia’s Climate School, in partnership with the Green Sports Alliance, Hollywood Climate Summit, Music Sustainability Alliance, Sustainable Entertainment Alliance, and Broadway Green Alliance, for an afternoon of networking and discussion focused on how these industries can accelerate environmental and social impact.

Water Stories: From Story to Stewardship – Collective Work for Water with World Water Film Festival, Lo-TEK Institute & Brave Blue World Foundation

Thursday 24 September | 17:00 – 20:00

05:00pm – 08:00pm, Thursday, September 24, 2026 | reSOUND at HERO, Rockefeller Center

Water Stories is a new collaborative initiative between the World Water Film Festival, the Lo-TEK Institute, and the Brave Blue World Foundation, built on a single conviction: that the world’s most urgent water challenges will only be addressed when diverse knowledge systems are brought into genuine relationship – and when more people are invited to see water not as a resource to be managed, but as a living system we are part of.
