POC Member, Gibsons Games, has launched a brand-new 1,000‑piece jigsaw puzzle created in collaboration with the National Railway Museum, part of the Science Museum Group – also a POC Member.
Featuring a beautifully restored vintage railway poster from the museum’s world‑renowned collection, the newly released jigsaw showcases a lively pictorial map of central London, originally created in 1938 by celebrated British artist Kerry Lee. Commissioned by Southern Railway, the artwork was designed to promote travel to London from the South and West, capturing the excitement, accessibility and cultural richness of the capital in the late 1930s.
Last year, Gibsons was honoured with a King’s Award for Enterprise for Sustainable Development, as it has been making the shift away from plastic for its puzzles and games, in particular switching its puzzle bags to paper, and making the jigsaws themselves from FSC recycled and recyclable cardboard. However, this is not how Gibsons is encouraging its customers to dispose of its jigsaws, instead telling them to pass them on. By supporting the Ramsbottom Jigsaw Festival, For the Love of Puzzles UK Facebook group, and community board game groups and libraries, Gibsons ensures each jigsaws gets loved over and over again.

The artwork featured in Gibsons new jigsaw comes from the National Railway Museum’s extensive archive of railway posters, the largest collection of its kind in the world, many of which were originally produced to encourage rail travel and showcase destinations across Britain.
Amy Harbour, head of licensing and commercial partnerships at the National Railway Museum, said: “These posters were created to inspire people to travel, and they remain incredibly powerful examples of British graphic design. We’re delighted to see this beautiful 1938 London map brought to life again through this jigsaw. Working with Gibsons Games allows us to share our collection in a way that’s both accessible and engaging for new audiences.”
Emily Charles, head of brand at Gibsons Games added: “Vintage railway posters have a timeless appeal, and this particular artwork is packed with detail, character and charm. We’re proud to partner with the National Railway Museum on a puzzle that not only provides hours of enjoyment, but also celebrates the golden age of railway art and Britain’s love of travel.”

The 1,000‑piece jigsaw is now available from Gibsons Games and selected retailers, offering puzzlers the chance to step back in time and rediscover London through one of the most evocative pieces in the National Railway Museum collection.
