Pure Table Top shares its achievements in latest Impact Report

Conscious tableware business and POC Member, Pure Table Top, has just released its latest Impact Report, spotlighting a number of its achievements from the past financial year.

Highlights include: 2 industry awards won; 81% of its products purchased with an environmental and/or social certificate; a 43% reduction its scope 1, 2, & 3 emissions; 100% of its tier 1 factories independently audited; 226 hours of staff volunteering; and over £12,106 donated to charity partners.

Decarbonising its business operations has been one of Pure Table Top’s primary goals over the last year, with the company becoming SBTi approved in April 2024. Pure is committed to reaching net zero emissions by 2040, and to date has achieved a 43.05% reduction from its baseline year, and 14% reduction from FY23/24 across all three scopes. This achievement puts it ahead of its 2040 net zero target.

Furthering this goal, Pure became a Bronze Accredited Carbon Literate business this year, with two thirds of its team holding Carbon Literacy accreditation, embedding the knowledge into its daily operations.

“It’s clear to see global temperatures are rising with huge impacts to our eco-systems. It may seem remote and is hard to know where to start to take action but through Carbon Literacy, we’re learning, collaborating, and taking meaningful steps towards positive climate action through everyone’s individual and business actions,” comments Jason Singh, head of sustainability at Pure Table Top.

A stand-out focus and one of Pure Table Top’s most celebrated accomplishments of the year, is of course its range created in collaboration with the Eden Project, sporting the first ever digital products passports (DPPs) in homewares, courtesy of Fabacus and Dayrize.

Tanith Sellicks, founder and CEO at Pure Table Top comments: “[It is] An exciting step that truly brings to life everything we’ve learned about transparency, innovation, and sustainability over the years. This achievement embodies exactly who we are and reflects the future we envision for our customers.”

This Eden Project collaboration forms part of Pure’s PurerHome range, which has itself achieved a 14% CO2 reduction from using recycled materials across total order quantities.

Pure Table Top continues to align to the UN Sustainable Development Goals through its work, identifying in particular: SDG 8: Decent work and economic growth, SDG 9: Industry, innovation, and infrastructure, SDG 12: Responsible consumption and production, SDG 13: Climate action, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the goals.

With its social sustainability being just as valued as its environmental, Pure has invested in multiple charity partners, including Lupus UK, Pancreatic Cancer UK, OpenHands, and the Vayyu Foundation – with which Pure worked with on a volunteering day last year, collecting 27.3kgs of plastic waste from the banks of the River Soar.

Looking ahead, Pure has set itself a number of 2025 goals, covering its four pillars: People, Product, Planet, and Progress. This includes encouraging all its employees to utilise their 2 full volunteering days, continuing to offer DPPs to its customers, further reduce its emissions by 5%, and renew its B Corp certification.
